Music
The Pilgrim Lutheran Church Choir is an adult ensemble of approximately twenty singers. Although most choir members are Pilgrim members, some are students from the neighboring UWS campus. The choir is open to any interested singer high school age and older, without audition, who enjoys part-singing to the glory of God. The full PLC Choir sings for worship services from September – May. Several ladies in the choir also have their own separate ensemble, the Grace Notes, which sings regularly throughout the year. During the Advent season, the choir presents an annual Service of Lessons and Carols, in conjunction with the Santa Lucia Vesper Tea, along with the Clarion Ringers, Pilgrim’s handbell choir. Curtis Hanson has been choir director since February 2001 continuing Pilgrim’s strong musical heritage. He is a professional musician, voice teacher, singer, conductor, and composer well-known in the Twin Ports area. His biography can be found in Who’s Who in America and Who's Who in American Education. Interested singers who would like to join the Pilgrim Choir family are welcome to contact the church office.
